About Nosara Beach
Located 25 km from Playa Samara, it is ideal for camping, with a potable water service. It is a tropical paradise of flora and fauna within a group of beaches separated by rocks and soil.
Nosara is a quiet beach community, ideal for nature lovers or surfers. Nosara Beach is part of the Ostional Wildlife Sanctuary; therefore, a Nosara strip of 200 m wide is a protected area where buildings can not be built. The inhabitants of Nosara are determined to preserve their natural environment.
Almost half of the land in the region is protected from trees that can not be cut, so it is a place away from the beach that can only be accessed by vehicle. It is highly recommended to observe local fishermen using the old fishing technique. During low tide, you can cross the river through Nosara Beach by canoe, which allows you to observe a wide variety of birds and other wild animals.
When the tide is high, it is not advisable. Like the rest of the Nosara beaches, the waves are ideal for surfing. Nosara has three different beaches, each with its own beauty and activities.
The main beach of Nosara is Playa Guiones, with 6 km of white sand. Playa Guiones is one of the best places to surf in the Nicoya Peninsula. The beach has easy access. South of Playa Guiones, Playa Rosada is a magical place with a small stretch of pink sand. But most of the time, it is isolated.
To the north of Playa Guiones is Playa Pelada, protected by a reef barrier on the high seas, which makes it perfect for swimming. Towards the northern part of the bay, there are tides and a rocky part with caves.
